Privacy Policy

Superior Staff Pty Ltd is committed to the confidentiality of information and the privacy of individuals and ensures that all personal information collected regarding candidates, employees, host employers and others complies with the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988 (as amended) and the Victorian Information Privacy Act 2000.

Superior Staff will review the privacy policy on a regular basis to ensure it keeps abreast of changes to legislation and technology, changes to our operations and practices and to make sure it remains appropriate to the changing environment.

Our Objectives

Our policy objectives are to ensure:

  • Consultants are made aware of their responsibilities in regard to the Privacy Act 1988 (as amended) and Victorian Information Privacy Act 2000;
  • Personal information collected is directly related to enabling placement of candidates in employment;
  • Sensitive information is only disclosed with consent from the individual;
  • Information is stored appropriately to maintain confidentiality;

Information collected by Superior Staff:

  • Candidate information submitted and obtained from the candidate and other sources in connection with applications for work;
  • Work performance information;
  • Information about incidents in the workplace;
  • Employee information;
  • Information submitted and obtained in relation to absences from work due to leave, illness or other causes; and/or
  • Information obtained to assist in managing client and business relationships.

Disclosure of Personal Information:

Superior Staff may use and disclose personal information for the purposes it was collected or for a related or ancillary purpose such as the provision of any one or more other services normally provided by us to the host employer. Personal information may be disclosed to:

  • Potential employers or employees.
  • Nominated referees.
  • Any person or body to whom we are required by law to disclose information.
  • In some circumstances to any competent organisation that conducts background and criminal record checks (provided that the organisation undertakes to comply with privacy laws and keep all information supplied to the organisation confidential).
  • To educational or vocational organisations to the extent necessary to verify qualifications.

Data Security

We will take reasonable steps to protect the personal information that we hold from misuse, loss or unauthorised access or disclosure. We will destroy any personal information that we hold that we no longer have any use for, other than information that we are required by law to preserve.

Access to personal information

As is reasonable in the circumstance and subject to any limitations required by law, you may gain access to your personal information at any time by contacting Superior Staff’s Privacy Officer or Director.

Keeping information up to date

If you personal information changes, please contact us and we will update and correct the information that we hold. We may also contact you from time to time to check that the information you have provided is still correct. Any questions or requirements regarding this Privacy Policy should be directed to our Privacy Officer/or Director.

Definitions:

Sensitive information Sensitive information is a special category of personal information. It is information or opinion about you, including membership of a professional or trade association or membership of a trade union; criminal record; health or disability, etc.
